If you receive a letter or text advising you to shield for 12 weeks please adhere to this for your own safety. See list below.


At Very High Risk (Groups) for Shielding 12 weeks


People with a solid organ transplant such as a kidney or liver transplan


People with specific cancers:


People with cancer who are undergoing active chemotherapy or radical radiotherapy for lung cancer


People with cancers of the blood or bone marrow such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma who are at any stage of treatment


People having immunotherapy or other continuing antibody treatments for cancer


People having other targeted cancer treatments which can affect the immune system, such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors


People who have had bone marrow or stem cell transplants in the last 6 months, or who are still taking immunosuppression drugs


People with severe respiratory conditions including all cystic fibrosis, severe asthma and severe COPD. See below. •


People with rare diseases and inborn errors of metabolism that significantly increase the risk of infections (such as SCID, homozygous sickle cell) •


People on immunosuppression therapies sufficient to significantly increase risk of infection •


People who are pregnant with significant congenital heart disease • All patients on the following medications: Azathioprine, Mycophenolate (both types), Cyclosporin, Sirolimus, Tacrolimus.


IF shielding- Stay at home at all times and avoid any face-to-face contact for at least twelve weeks.

Out of area registration scheme


The out of area registration scheme launched by the government is voluntary and this practice has chosen to participate in this scheme. This means we are  able to register patients living outside our catchment area, however this is discretionary and may not be appropriate for all patients. Please speak to one of our receptionists for more information

Appointments

Extended hours are available Monday Tuesday & Friday evening 18:30-19:00, Wednesday evening 18:30-19:30 Please call 020 8491 3310 to pre-book an appointment.

Our receptionists have been trained to ask you questions so they are able to direct you appropriately. Please be patient with the staff while they try assist you

Urgent Appointments

We have "emergency appointments" every day. These appointments are for acute medical emergencies for which you will be offered a 5 minute appointment.

The appointment will be for the emergency problem only. The doctor will not have time to discuss blood test results, longer term problems etc. If the doctor feels it is not an emergency, you may be asked by the doctor to re-book a routine appointment.

Nurse Appointments

The practice nurse is able to deal with a number of problems such as removal of stitches, minor wounds, dressing changes, weight loss advice, smear tests and long term conditions management such as Diabetes, Asthma etc. To make an appointment with a nurse, call 020 8491 3310. You can now book some appointments online for our nurse.

Health Care Assistant

Our HCA provides dressings, B12, blood pressure checks, NHS Health Checks, Spirometry and ECGs and weight checks. You can book directly for the HCA by calling 020 8491 3310.You can now book some appointments online for our HCA.

Telephone Appointments

You can pre-book a telephone appointment with a GP Mon-Fri regarding a routine query which can be dealt with over the phone. For urgent queries you will be directed to the on-call doctor who will call you back on the same day.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you arrive 5 minutes or more late for your appointment you may not be seen and will have to re-book.

Need to see a GP in the evening or at the weekend?

You can now book an appointment for urgent conditions usually managed by GP's during the evening and weekend by directly calling 020 3770 1888. The appointments line is open 2-9pm Mon - Fri and 9am-5pm Sat, 9am-4pm Sun (bank holidays may vary). (Outside of the hours please call 111)

These clinics are NOT a walk in system and are NOT for ongoing chronic problems e.g heart disease, diabets etc. You will be seen by either a GP or nurse practitioner by appointment only.

This service is available locally. Appointments are available 6:30pm-10:00pm Monday - Friday and 3:30pm-8:00pm weekends.

This surgery is a member if Healthbridge Federation who are porviding this service.
